Welcome to Yahos School Of Skills
The story of YAHOS School of Skills began not with grand facilities or national recognition, but with a heartfelt mission: to create a place where every individual, no matter their background, could gain the skills, confidence, and support to transform their life.
Founded in 2002, YAHOS started as a small tuition centre, committed to helping young students improve their academic performance. But what began in a humble setting quickly grew into something far more powerful. As we listened to the needs of our community, we realized that many youths in Sarawak — especially in rural and underserved areas — didn’t just need academic support. They needed opportunities. They needed skills. They needed a second chance.
That’s when our purpose shifted, and our journey as a skills training institution truly began. From offering our first programmes in Mechatronics and Computer Maintenance, we gradually expanded to Early Childhood Education, Culinary Arts, Pastry, Bakery, Accounting, and Beauty Services. Every course we introduced was built with one intention: to provide practical, industry-relevant skills that lead to employment, independence, and a better future.
YAHOS quickly became among the beacon for technical and vocational education in Sarawak. We were among the first to bring Early Childhood Care & Education SKM programmes to the state, and we took bold steps to serve communities often left behind — including the Penan people. We believed then, as we do now, that education is not a privilege for a few, but a right for all.
Today, YAHOS is proud to be one of the largest private skills training institution in Sarawak, accredited by the Department of Skills Development (JPK) and partnered with respected institutions like UNIMAS Business School. We have branches in Kuching and Miri, including the YAHOS Beauty Academy and the newly commissioned ECCE programme at Senadin. Our growth has been guided by our deep commitment to quality, access, and community development.
But beyond awards and expansions, our greatest achievement is our students. We’ve seen school leavers, single mothers, rural youth, and second-chance learners walk through our doors feeling uncertain — and walk out ready for the world. We’ve seen confidence bloom, careers take flight, and lives forever changed. That is the heart of YAHOS.
This is not just our story — it’s the story of thousands of Sarawakians who dared to dream, chose to learn, and found their path. As we step into the future with even more programmes, partnerships, and passion, we remain rooted in our founding belief:
We don’t just teach skills. We build futures.
