Program Overview

The Pastry Production programme at Yahos School of Skills is crafted to train aspiring bakers and pastry chefs with the essential knowledge and hands-on skills needed to succeed in the baking and confectionery industry. This programme focuses on building a solid foundation in pastry-making techniques, dessert preparation, and baking fundamentals for a variety of local and international products.
Students will learn to prepare a wide array of baked goods—from traditional kuih and Malaysian desserts to classic European pastries, cakes, breads, and confectionery items. The course places strong emphasis on practical training in Yahos’ fully-equipped pastry kitchens, where students will work in a professional setting that mirrors real industry environments.
To enhance their readiness for the workforce, students will also complete an industry internship, allowing them to gain real-world experience in hotels, bakeries, or food production facilities.
Whether pursuing a career in hotels, cafés, bakeries, or planning to start their own pastry business, graduates of this programme will be well-prepared to thrive in Malaysia’s growing culinary and F&B sector.

Minimum Qualifications

The minimum entry requirement for the is one of the following:

– Possess Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) with a minimum of three (3) credits in any subject or its equivalent; or
– A pass in Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) with a minimum Grade C in any subject, or its equivalent; or
– A pass in Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM) with a minimum grade of Maqbul or its equivalent; or
– A pass in Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia (SKM) Level 3 in a related field; or
– A Certificate (Level 3 Malaysian Qualifications Framework, MQF) in a related field or its equivalent.
